"If you want a ceremony that’s personal, easy and completely about you, then we highly recommend Gab. Gab made the whole process so easy and fun. She also made our ceremony really about us."

Hello and thanks for visiting my website.

My name is Gabrielle and I'm a registered marriage celebrant based in Melbourne. I live in Elwood but I have performed wedding ceremonies in the Melbourne CBD, in country Victoria, along the Mornington Peninsula and as far away as Far North Queensland - in wedding venues, private homes, on the beach and in gardens - each one unique and every one full of love.

My partner and I have been together for over twenty years and I understand the desire to publicly declare your love and commitment to one another, and to have your relationship acknowledged by family and friends.

It is a rite of passage.

And now it is a right that everyone shares equally.

"Marriage, according to law in Australia, is the union of two people to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life."

As a marriage celebrant, I am so happy to be marrying people all over Australia and sharing in the love and joy that weddings honour and celebrate.

In my role as celebrant, I can help you to organise your ceremony, write your vows, suggest ideas to reflect your unique relationship and ways to include family and friends, take care of the legal documents and work with you to make your wedding day everything you hope for.

Sharing an experience on your wedding day that you will look back on and still feel the love, joy and support of family and friends is a memory that I hope to create with you.

In my world, Love rules.

"Thank you so much for being a part of our day! We loved the entire process of meeting you, to you officiating our wedding day, we couldn’t have asked for a better celebrant. Honestly, you made us feel warm and comfortable in front of everyone, and yes our comedic act came out unexpectedly but it was true to us haha!!"

And now my favourite part... weddings photos!

Beautiful brides, handsome grooms, perfect locations and happy friends and families.

Plus a special wedding video created by Leanne Hanley for Nicky and Jonny that perfectly encapsulates the feeling on the day. See Leanne's work at

Thanks for sharing.

"We wanted our ceremony short and sweet but still personal. Gab's delivery on the day was amazing! She is so good with her words! I have been to so many weddings and seen so many celebrants because I work in the industry. Gab was the perfect choice of celebrant. "

Nicky & Jonny, October 2016

"We thought you did an amazing job and we're so thankful you were involved. You made the day so special and so many people commented on how beautiful the ceremony was."

My background is in film and television so I enjoy collaborating with people in order to figure out how to best tell their stories and how to create unique ways of expressing their relationship through a personalised ceremony.

It can be simple, it can be formal, it can be visual, it can be verbal but it is always heartfelt and inclusive; a memory that will always makes you smile.

Together we can exchange ideas and explore resource material to come up with the perfect expression of your love.

To give you an idea of my services, I have listed everything that will be included when you engage me as your wedding celebrant.

I am happy to add to the list if you have any further requests.

  • All meetings, emails and phone calls

  • Preparation of all legal paperwork and necessary forms including the Notice of Intended Marriage, the No Legal Impediment to Marriage declaration and the Official Marriage Certificates.

  • Examples of ceremonies and vows to provide inspiration for creating your own unique celebration of your relationship.

  • Preparation of a personalised ceremony and vows as discussed and approved by you.

  • Professional delivery of your perfect ceremony.

  • Professional PA system should it be required.

  • Rehearsal at the wedding venue or preferred location in and around Melbourne.

  • Travel to and from the ceremony.

  • Lodgement of all official documents with the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages within 14 days of the ceremony.

"It was very special to have you there to be our celebrant, it was an amazing day and Bec and I keep reliving it moment by moment.” Dean

“It was above and beyond how I thought it would be! Thank you for marrying us. You were awesome.” Bec

Once we have connected via phone or email, we can talk about your wedding and what you are hoping for on the day, and if you feel comfortable, we can arrange to meet.

When you are happy to book me as your celebrant, you can secure the date by making a deposit when you complete and sign the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form which we can fill in together or you can download it online from the Attorney General's Department (

You will need to provide the celebrant with some form of identity like a birth certificate or a passport.

The NOIM needs to be received by the celebrant at least one month prior to the date of the wedding, and no longer than 18 months beforehand.

I will also send you some samples of vows and wedding ceremonies to give you a starting point that we can work from, along with a brochure entitled Happily Ever Before and After which must be given to all marrying couples before their wedding as stipulated on the NOIM (subsection 42(5A) of the Marriage Act).

You will also need to nominate two witnesses to sign all three official marriage certificates.

The two witnesses must be 18 years of age or over.

Then we can begin the fun part; creating your ceremony.

We can talk over the phone, email each other and meet in person to discuss your ideas and what you like and don't like.

The most important thing is that the ceremony has meaning for you and that it reflects you as a couple.

You can include family, friends, children, rituals, symbols and music.

Or not!

I can create a first draft and then you can continue to make adjustments until you both feel happy that the ceremony conveys a sense of who you are as people.

It's always a good idea to have a rehearsal in the week running up to the wedding so everyone has a chance to get comfortable with their roles and to understand the order of the ceremony.

It also gives us the opportunity to complete the No Legal Impediment to Marriage declaration which needs to be signed as close to the wedding as possible.

On the day of your wedding, I will arrive an hour beforehand to set up and liaise with you and the wedding party, the photographer and the venue management to make sure everything is in place for the ceremony.

I will greet your family and friends along with other guests and make everyone feel welcome.

I'll also check in with you both before we go ahead and begin the ceremony.

Then it's time to get married.

Once you've said "I do", we'll sign all the marriage certificates to make sure everything's legal.

And then... you are married!

Time to celebrate.

I will send all the necessary legal documentation to the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages within fourteen days of the date of your wedding.

Then it's for real, for keeps and forever.

Can't wait to hear from you.

I'd love to help you create a lasting memory of love and happiness on your wedding day.

"Upon meeting Gab, my husband and I knew immediately that we would engage her as our wedding celebrant. Gab was warm, kind, knowledgeable and understanding when it came to preparing our ceremony."
